Fiddle Dee Dee
Last weekend I had the pleasure of going to another bachlorette party, and this time it was at my friend Caitlin’s lake house on Norris Lake. It is always a fun weekend when you are jam packed in a house with 15-20 girls for two nights. Most people would ask, “What did you do up there all that time?” And the truth is what did we not do? We had a dock with our bikinis ready to lay out; we had very fun baked goods and bachlorette card games; a lingerie shower; a pinata filled with goodies for Laura; ping pong; and most importantly, we had some major catching up to do. Most of these girls I have known for about 15 years, and some about 22 years. It is pretty scary to think about our ages and how long we have known each other, but I guess that’s what makes our friendships so special. Laura Frazier, the soon bride-to-be is getting married in August and has to be one of the most photogenic and fun people I have ever met. She is one of those girls who is always the life of the party, and just a jewel to be around. There is never a dull moment, and that’s what I love about her. Here are some of my favorite shots from the weekend.

I couldn’t ask for better girlfriends and I am so thankful for each and every one of them.

School is out, but not for long…
I had my final critique for school on June 9th, and I can’t believe June is almost over. I have basically had a three week break before I start my second quarter, and time has flown by way too fast. I start back again on Monday the 30th. Where did the time go? I have basically been babysitting every day for some families that found me off of sittercity. It’s a great website and I have found some really wonderful families to sit for through the site. I bought a new book I have been dying to read, Love the One you are With by Emily Giffin who happens to live in Atlanta herself. She wrote three other books that were fabulous and I am not one who reads all that much, so when I love something I know it must be great. I have cleaned my room like crazy; finally got organized; applied for a second job in the area and hopefully all goes well and I get hired the position; and last but not least went to a bachlorette party this past weekend. I have not downloaded the images yet, but it was so fun to actually have an all girls weekend with no distractions and no homework sitting on my head.
Last night I was browsing through images on my favorite photographers websites and I came across these two images. One is by my favorite photographer Brigitte Lacombe in NYC, and the other is by Andrew Eccless who I am just now becoming familiar with. I try to at least new one new famous photographer a day, it helps me figure out what kind of photography styles I like/dislike. Even though Hillary Clinton is down for the count on the Democratic side, I actually enjoyed learning all about her and why she wanted to be the next president of our country. Don’t get me wrong, I really like Obama too, and I especially enjoyed watching the two debate over certain topics. However, these two images are both of Hillary, yet so very different in many ways. I think it is so interesting how the same exact subject can look totally different depending on the photographer and different situations.
Also, one more thing. I came across these the other day and I just had to share them with you guys. They are really neat placemats by Publique Living. How darling would these be for any special dinner occasion or even party. I just thought it was a great idea, and hopefully sometime I can find an excuse to use them.
That’s about it for today, but have a great weekend!

Innovative Stationary!
I came across this company yesterday, and I really like their designs. I am always looking for stationary companies, and when I find one I like, I like to share it. Orange Beautiful, a creative and innovative company based out of Chicago that seems to do just about anything. They can design announcements, cards, books, boxes, invitations, and even finish it off with binding. I especially enjoy their website. While I do not know a whole lot about this company, I do know their stuff is pretty cool. Here are two designs I really liked. And be sure to check out their stuff here.
Another company I came across is Alee and Press and I could be wrong, but I think they are based right out of Georgia. Their website is still in the making, but I had to at least check out their letterpressed invitations, announcements, and note cards. Man, I wish I had a letterpress, or even better, I wish I knew how to work one because I love Letterpress Invites. There is just something about them that is just beautiful. Each one is different and creative in it’s own way. How could you not love letterpress? Anyways, here are a few of their designs I really enjoyed.
Be sure to check out their designs! That is all for today, but at least tomorrow is Friday! Have a great weekend!

Help The Honey Bees!
Haagen Dazs has recently created a Help The Honey Bees campaign to promote awareness of the honey bee issue. In case you didn’t know about the issue, honey bees are disappearing and could effect one third of the foods we eat, including ingredients that make up 40% of our all-natural ice cream.
Haagen Dazs has created a brand new flavor Vanilla Honey Bee in honor of the honey bees to promote awareness throughout communities. With our help, Haagen Dazs will donate money in support of honey bee and sustainable pollination research programs at different universities. Be sure to check out the darling site dedicated to the honey bee campaign, and next time you are out, buy a pint of Vanilla Honey Bee Ice Cream and help save the honey bees.

A New Fun Find!
I just stumbled across this store Vintage General tonight, and even though they are located in Savannah Georgia, I love the site. It is so fresh and so unique, and if I am in Savannah anytime soon, this place will be on the top of my list. You have to love Design Sponge, they talk about everything. That is how I even found this store. Even though I can’t really say it is a cool store because granted I have never even been there, they must be a pretty successful store in Savannah having been featured in magazines such as Better Homes and Gardens, Lucky Magazine, Vanity Fair, Cottage Living and Cooking with Paula Dean. Well, you know me, I love sharing any cool finds I come across. Here is a screen shot of their adorable site.
Just thought I would share my new excitement for the night. Sleep tight!

Quarter of a Century!
This past weekend I turned 25!!! I can’t believe it. 25 already. Where does the time go? Besides having a lot on my mind with school, it was actually a fantastic weekend! On May 31st, my actual birthday, I woke up and went to breakfast at Gourmet Market with Justin where we both celebrated our birthdays by ordering the most delicious berry pancakes ever! They were so good. Oh, and let me tell you, I was having a rough morning. I took my car into Firestone to get a oil change, and I was wearing brand new Old Navy shorts. This man came up to me and said, “mam, can I ask you a question?” I said, “sure.” He replies, “well, I really like those shorts, they are really cute and they look recently new, are they?” I say, “yes as a matter of fact they are, why do you ask.” Well, sure enough, the man proceeds to let me know I have left the stupid size sticker on my shorts and I was parading around all morning before I notice. Thank goodness he told me! He said he would rather me be embarrassed in the morning versus 5 in the afternoon. I just laughed!
Next I was off to do a photo shoot of my dear friend Libby! I asked her if she would model for me for a project, and she did! She recently got married a few weeks ago, and talk about a beautiful bride. You can see some of her photos on Bill Waldorf’s blog here. They are truly beautiful photos of her. This is not one I am using for my project, but I just love it of Libby. She is just the most naturally pretty person, and so genuine and kind. Thanks Libby for modeling for me.
Here is the first one.
Look at that amazing smile.
I think I know which one I want to use for my project, but she was a great model regardless. After my photo shoot I went home to get ready for the big birthday party at Barley’s in the Old City. There was a really good turn out, and I think Justin and I had a great overall birthday party. By the end of the night, probably about 25 people were there. I personally love Birthdays and the fact that I got to share it with Justin was awesome. Probably my favorite gift was the Canon 50mm lens from Justin that I just recently shot my fruit project with. It works perfectly, and I couldn’t have asked for a better gift. Here is a few pictures from our birthday!
My birthday cake from Stefanie! She calls me Fotog for photographer, its my new nickname.
My sister, brother and my mom.
My good friend Leighann!
Best of all, the birthday couple!
Thanks everyone for coming out! We had a great birthday and I really enjoyed your company.
