Mr. Eaves

Mrs. Eaves is one of my favorite typefaces from Emigre, and now they have Mrs. Eaves. I am so excited and I can’t wait to get the font. Isn’t it lovely!

Murphy North Carolina

A few weeks ago I decided to join Kay and David at their lakehouse for the weekend in Murphy NC. It’s about 2 hours and 20 minutes from Atlanta, so it is not a bad drive at all. Honestly, the drive was a photographers haven. I saw so many shots along the way. What a beautiful day it was too! The morning fog was so thickI just had to stop and take a few pictures. Here are my favorites from the weekend.

Felix

Last week we had the pleasure of having Felix Sockwell come to school and do a seminar. Super funny, charismatic, and witty. I love his posters and icons. He’s a great designer, and to top things off, I even won two of his posters. Here are some of my favorite designs of his.

Anyways, I also got the pleasure and great opportunity to photograph him. Luckily when I met him I know it would be a fun shoot and this is what we came up with.

The light of day.

Everytime I babysit for Audrey there is a certain point in the day when the light comes through the kitchen window so beautifully and I always want to take a picture. Last week I finally caught a shot I liked. Here it is. I love light!

Things to smile about.

This morning I went to a garage sale that was supposed to have tons of photography equipment, and what do you know, it had practically nothing exept for a lens baby. Disappointing! However, I knew of another garage sale nearby that I decided to go to, and I got so lucky. I found this adorable shabby medicine cabinet for my sister for her new place. I can’t wait to give it to her, and it was only $30. Great find!!!

Is that not so cute! Aside from that, once a week or more I babysit Audrey and if the weather is nice we usually go to the park. She pronounces “the park” like a new jersey gal. It is so funny! Audrey loves loves loves to watch Yo Gabba Gabba and the silly hats, so when she got in my car and found a hat I had in there for a prop she decided to try it on. She is the cutest thing ever!

That’s it for now. :)

July

I photographed Charley’s 1st Birthday two weeks ago and it was so much fun. Kids are hilarious!!! And until I get all the photos up, I thought this was adorable of Charley with her birthday hat on.

Also, I found a new photographer I really like. Josh Goleman. I stumbled across his work and since then I subscribe to his blog. He shoots a little bit of everything, but here are a few of my favorites of his work. Be sure to check him out.

My New Lens!

Recently I bought the Canon 24-70mm lens and everyday since it arrived I have used it. It is my new baby and my new love. Here are some random shots from trying it out.

Weddings Bells!

I have gone to 4 friend’s weddings in the past 6 months, plus weddings I have photographed, my closet is full of bridesmaids dresses, I design wedding invitations, and therefore I sometimes find myself reading weddings blogs, researching weddings, reading about weddings, and so on. My life is full of weddings, and yet I still love weddings. I guess it is safe to say one day I will be fully prepared for my own big day. But I found this the other day on a blog and I absolutely love it. This is by far the coolest personal invitation I have ever seen.

Anyways, I just love it! If you want to check out the full invite and story, click here.

I just wanted to share my new cool find.
